Texas Fires Seen From the International Space Station: Space station astronauts have seen their share of natural disasters back to earth, giving us all a unique, if not dramatic views of the hurricanes and fires now burning in Texas. This video contains an overview of the external cameras are installed on the International Space Station, and portable cameras inside the station.Astronaut Ron Garan, one of the people behind the cameras, said today during a press conference that sought to share the experience with people living in space, and that the images and videos may differ from those taken by the satellite robots. "It’s something to say looking out the window and see the fire, because we happen to be here, and can take pictures. We try to share the feeling you get when you're here, not just points of view not just ones and zeros of digital media - but try to capture the experience of what is to be here, and you can get a picture of satellite.
