DMA Rankings New Nielsen: Audience measurement company Nielsen, has published the 2011-2012 designated market areas (DMA) estimates place. Of particular note is the decrease in the number of television households across the country since this time last year. Nielsen estimates indicate that between 2010 and 2011 the number of TV households decreased from 15.9 million to 14 .600.000. The ranking shows that Washington, DC, the market rose to # 8 slots, while Atlanta fell to ninth several Tri counties in southwestern Virginia Northeast Tennessee moved to DMA 92, while Jackson, Tennessee, has changed its 182nd of 176 DMA estimates show little change at different locations across the country, but the total loss of all households may be more questionable information. Will represent the "cord cutters," or is it something else?
